The Truth About Nutritional Supplement Companies: Be Prepared to be Shocked

Are you confused about nutritional supplement companies? There are so many of them. Are they all the same except maybe the cost? Mega supplement companies offer some real good prices. Is that because they sell lots of product so they can offer a lower cost...or...is it because the quality is inferior?

There are 3 very important points to consider when making a decision before buying a product from any nutritional supplement company.

  1. Do you realize that most nutrition companies spend very little money on Research and Development? That's right most of their budgets are spent coming up with crafty marketing and fancy packaging to sell their products. And when you buy their products you are helping them pay for that marketing!

  2. Here's another fact few people know - most nutrition companies out there get the ingredients for their products from 3 pharmaceutical companies. Yup - most nutrition companies are using synthetic ingredients produced in a laboratory by a pharmaceutical company.

  3. There is an interesting phenomenon in the supplement world called borrowed science. Simply put, this is when a company claims that since it has the same nutrients as another company and then claim the same benefits without doing the clinical studies to validate those claims.

To get the most value for your money here are the things you should be looking for in any supplement you purchase.

  • Ask for clinical studies or at least ask for the documentation that the makers of the supplement are conducting GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).

GMP's ensure that products are safe, pure, and effective. GMP regulations require a quality approach to manufacturing, enabling companies to minimize or eliminate instances of contamination, mixups, and errors.

  • Though they are hard to find look for a nutritional supplement company that proudly displays the NSF label. This is the ace of all of the certifications available for nutrition products.

    Here's why.

NSF International is an independent, not-for-profit organization. This body of audit and inspection is one of the most comprehensive and quality driven initiatives in the nutrition industry.

Their goal is to make the world a safer place for consumers.

They work hard to make sure that you don't have to question the safety -- or quality -- of your product,

Very few companies can boast this claim.

  • This tells you that they have, at great expense, gone the extra mile to achieve excellence.

  • This ensures that everything from the choice of ingredients to the testing of the final product meets the highest standards in the industry today

Otherwise, you might as well buy the cheapest product you can find because the ingredients are probably the same.
