Anti Aging Nutritional Supplement: Are you being deceived and how to know better

An anti aging nutritional supplement, which is also called an antioxidant, is protective against the biggest threat to your health. Oxidative stress, which produces free radicals, causes damage to your cells which can then lead to the development of heart issues, damaged cells, premature aging, depressed immune function...

Factors That Produce Free Radicals

Many things cause free radical production including:

  • Physical stress including exercise
  • Emotional stress

  • Environmental stress

  • Inadequate nutrition

  • Prescription drugs

  • Toxins in your environment, home, water and food

In 2001, the U.S. CDC (Center for Disease Control) did a study of only 27 toxins (of a possible 75,000). 100% of the people tested had 100% of the toxins being tested.

Toxins in the form of pesticides and industrial poisons are found both at the North and South Poles. Toxins were even found in the fat of penguins that live in the most pristine waters of the world.

No matter where you live, you cannot escape.

No wonder health challenges in the world are at an all time high and people are so sick and getting sicker all the time.

In spite of these alarming statistics, you can protect yourself by eating a good diet that includes fruits and veggies that are high in antioxidants. In addition, since it is very difficult to get enough nutrition from even the best diet, consume an anti aging nutritional supplement or antioxidant that will fill in the gaps.

A measure of how well an antioxidant works is called it's ORAC. This is a fancy scientific term for how well the supplement protects you against free radicals.

The higher the ORAC means you have more Pacmen gobbling up these scavenger free radicals.

But BEWARE. Many companies report huge ORAC values but, the results must be given after a nutrient is swallowed. As it goes through your digestive system, many changes occur that will affect an antioxidant's effectiveness. This is called the serum ORAC.

Another important criteria for an anti aging nutritional supplement is that it must be time released. Here's why. With each breath that you take, free radicals are formed. You breathe all day long so your antioxidant must be time released to deal with a constant onslaught of free radicals. Otherwise you only are protected as many times as you swallow the supplement.
